Genetic Testing & Counselling:

Providing genetic testing and counselling to help identify Thalassemia carriers, assess genetic risk, and support informed family planning decisions.

Awareness & Screening:

Promoting Thalassemia awareness and encouraging timely screening to identify carriers and individuals at risk. Early detection helps families make informed choices and supports effective prevention.

Thalassemia Awareness Camps:

Conducting awareness camps to educate communities about Thalassemia, its prevention, and the importance of early screening.

Blood Donation Camps:

Organising regular blood donation camps to help ensure a steady supply of safe blood for patients who depend on
transfusions.

Treatment & Medication Support:

Providing essential treatment and medication support to help Thalassemia patients manage their condition and maintain better health.

Varsha – A school for Specially Abled Children

Varsha – A School for Specially Abled Children, an initiative of Serum Thalassemia Prevention Federation, provides a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to learn, grow and discover their potential. Through personalised education, therapeutic support, vocational training and engaging activities, Varsha helps children develop essential life skills, build confidence and move towards greater independence.

In 2022, my ferritin level was around 3,000, which was a serious concern for my health. With their treatment support, guidance and medicines, my ferritin level has significantly reduced to 361 in 2025. I was diagnosed with Thalassemia Major at just three months of age. At STPF, I received dedicated medical care, regular follow-ups, blood transfusions every three weeks, vaccinations and continuous support. I later underwent a bone marrow transplant, and today, I am grateful to be living a normal life.
